Your Natural Hair Color Effects You

The first class of physical characteristics is based on personality type. The second class is coloring. There are two general types of coloring: fair-haired and dark-haired. Whereas the fair-haired are path-finders, the dark-haired are road-makers.

How to Determine Which Type Predominates in a Person

Determine which type PREDOMINATES in a person. If there is any doubt in your mind about this do these four things:

  • 1st. - Note the body-build of the person — which one of the five body types does he most resemble? (In doing this it will aid you if you will note whether fat, bone or muscle predominates in his bodily structure.)
  • 2nd. - Decide which of the five typical faces his face is most similar to.
  • 3rd. - Decide which of the five typical hands his hands are most similar to.
  • 4th. - If you are still not sure, note his voice, gestures and movements and they will lead you to figure out which type comes first and which comes second in the person

The Cerebral Type: “The Thinker” – Social and Emotional Makeup

The keynote of this type is meditation and all the mental processes that fall under it, such as thinking, contemplating and reflecting. Alimentives live to eat, Thoracics live to feel, Musuclars live to act, Osseouses to stabilize, but Cerebrals live to meditate. Planning, imagining, dreaming, day-dreaming, visualizing and going over the manifold possibilities, probabilities and potentialities of many things repeatedly go through his mind.

When Cerebrals plan, they are likely to overlook the question of practicability in the thing he is planning. He tends to dream dreams that are impossible of accomplishing. Cerebrals are the dreamers. However, one of their shortcomings is that they can only live in their dreams, and the real world is a very hostile world in comparison to their dream world. The real world to him is in his thoughts, but whenever he steps out of his real world into human society he feels like a stranger, because he is one.

Head work is the favorite activity of the overly-large-headed Cerebral. He is so far removed from the stomach stage that his stomach is as much a remnant with him as the brain is to the Alimentive. The Cerebral is more interested in food for his brain than food for his body so he can go without meals and not mind it. He tends to forget to eat.

People tend to refer to a person of the Cerebral type as being ‘born ahead of his time.’ His brains are able to see what the world needs but he is so averse to acting upon his views that unless active people take up his idea they seldom ever materialize.

The Cerebral tends to be short and take short steps. This in turn with his lack of muscle to create a powerful stride causes a rather irregular and sometimes jerky walk. The jerk isn’t apparent when he walks slowly, but when he is hurried it is quite noticeable. Cerebral’s tend to get lost in chairs because they are made for average sized people, which is too large for the Cerebral, so their legs dangle and arms don’t reach where they should.

Cerebrals are extremely sympathetic friends, however they don’t have many friends don’t care for more than a few. His ways of thinking are too abstract to add to the gaiety of social gatherings, since social gatherings are based on the enjoyment of the concrete.

Cerebrals enjoy people like himself, – readers, thinkers, writers, – intellectuals. Because these kinds of people are not easily found is a reason why the Cerebral has such a small number of friends. The people he ignores are the ignorant – those who let others do their thinking for them and are unaware of the great things going on in world movements.

Avoiding the limelight is common among Cerebrals. Modesty and reserve characterize the extreme Cerebral. Even when they invent something or write something extraordinary they try to avoid being lionized. Instead of being in the spotlight they prefer the shadows. Due to this they miss out on many of the good things that less brainy and more aggressive people gain in life. Cerebrals enjoy retirement and are constantly missing out on opportunities because they refuse to “mix” with society.

The friends of a Cerebral mean a lot to him, fame sometimes means something to a Cerebral but money typically means little. A pure Cerebral finds it difficulte to be interested in his finances. He hardly ever counts his change and tends to go away from his room leaving everything to his name on the dresser and then forget to lock the door! He seldom asks for a raise at work and is too busy dreaming dreams to plan what he will do when he is older. Due to the fact that we can only get what we go after, the Cerebral is often poor because in order to make money a person must want money – and the Cerebral could care less about money. Only when he wakes up to the poorhouse staring him in the face does he give working hard for money some serious consideration. Even then he does little about it. Due to this, history shows that few people of the pure Cerebral type ever became rich, even the most brilliant.

Clothes are one of the last things that Cerebrals think about. Alimentives demand comfort in clothes, Thoracics demand style, Musculars demand durability and Osseouses demand sameness; but the pure Cerebral type says “anything will do.” He is what most would call a fashion disaster since known of his articles ever match. Clothing is clothing in the Cerebrals’ eyes.

The term ‘absentminded’ often applies to the Cerebral because he is capable of greater concentration than other types, and also because he is so frequently compelled to do things that he has no interest in and then his mind will naturally wander to the things he cares about. Cerebrals tend to be poor talkers yet excellent writers. Before giving his thoughts to the world he first likes to think out every phase of a thing and put it in just the right words. “Some of the world’s greatest ideas have come to light first in the forgotten manuscripts of people of this type who died without showing their writing to any one. Evidently they did not consider them of sufficient importance or did not care as much about publishing them as about putting them down.”

Pure Cerebrals often have a deficient sense of time. They are less conscious of the hours that have gone by than any other type. Musculars and Osseouses often have an almost uncanny time-sense, but pure Cerebrals lack it. Unlike the other types that follow various religions, according to their upbringings, a large percentage of unorthodox people tend to be of the Cerebral type.

The Cerebral Type: "The Thinker" – Physical Makeup

The latest and last stage in human evolution was the development of the brain and nervous system. In those whom the nervous system is more highly developed than any other are Cerebrals. The brain and nerves are contained in this system and the name comes from the cerebrum or thinking part of the brain. All voluntary processes take place in the cerebrum, or brain, and so do meditation, imagining, dreaming, visualizing. The headquarters of the nervous system is the brain. Just like the stomach is the home office of the Alimentive system and the heart and lungs the home office of the Thoracic, the brain is the home office of the Cerebral.

Our first impression of the people of this type is that they are frail and delicate. The features of the Cerebral are more refined and more sensitive than those of the other four types. Sensitivity seems to be the keynote of the mental type, and their instinct to think characterizes them. What they wish to do in life is to be left alone to think, imagine, dream, plan and read. One of their strongest points is that unlike feeling as the other types do, the Cerebral thinks.  They keep track of their time, and tend to be ahead. In the world of ideas they are ahead and they tend to create the world’s ideals. Their impracticality is their weakest point.

The front face and head of the Cerebral is based on the triangle geometrical figure. For the pure Cerebral, a triangle is what you are reminded of when you look at his head from the side because his head stands on a small, delicate neck, and his forehead stands out at the top, while the back of his head is long. The widest part of his head is nearer to the top than in other types.

The Cerebral’s hands are thin, delicate, and larger than average. Their fingers have long been known as smooth. These should not be confused with the “fat, pudgy babyish fingers of the Alimentive,” because the smoothness of the Cerebral’s is defined that the outlines of the fingers run straight up and down. The joints of the Cerebral fingers mark the widest spots on the fingers and the spaces between the joints are sunken.

Thoracic fingers are pointed like their heads, while Musuclar’s fingers are square at the end and look powerful, because they are. The Cerebral has fingers different then both of these. There isn’t any fat to make them pudgy and no muscle is present to make them firm. There aren’t large joints to make them knotty looking. Due to not being any of the above, their outlines run in almost straight lines and their whole hand gives off a more frail and aesthetic appearance. They also tend to be shorter than the average human.

The Osseous Type: “The Stayer” – Emotional and Social Makeup

The Osseous is a pure “againster”. He is against almost everything. One common mental attitude of the extremely raw-boned individual is “I don’t know what it is but I’m against it.” They often, unconsciously, stray away from making decisions until someone makes theirs so they can take the opposing side. This type, their whole life, naturally disagrees with people and stand out against others. Think of when you were in school, or if you are in school think of how school is now “and call to mind the visage and bodily shape of the boy who was always on the opposite side, who just naturally disagree, who 'stood out' against the others. He was a bony lad every time. Remember the 'Fatty' with a face like a full moon? Did he do such things? He did not. He was amenable, easy-going, good natured, and didn’t care how the discussion came out, so long as it didn’t delay the lunch hour. Remember the boy or girl who had the pick of the school for company whenever there was a party, who danced well and was so sparkling that you always felt like a pebble competing against a diamond when they were around? That boy or girl had a high chest, or high color, or a high-bridged nose and usually all three. But the one you couldn’t persuade, who couldn’t be won over, who refused to give in, who held up all the unanimous votes till everybody was disgusted with him, and who rather gloried in the distinction that boy had big bones and a square jaw the proof that he was a combination of the Osseous and Muscular types.”

The bony people have always kept the rest of the world from running away with its self, to prevent unreasonable changes in law, customs and traditions. Osseous people are hardly ever over-persuaded, and are able to keep a perpendicular position while the rest of the world is constantly swayed each way; so they act as “society’s balance wheel.” After much persuasion the Osseous may change, but by the time he changes the world has moved on to something new that he can disagree with.

As the title states, the Osseous is a “stayer” and this word applies to everything he wears, thinks, says, believes, and to the way he carries on every single activity of his long life. It doesn’t matter how rich he becomes, he will not buy a new car every year, or a new house. He uses his money to keep up his type-habits and to give freer rein to them, no to change these habits to any extent. Osseous people love sameness. “He likes to ‘get acquainted’ with a thing.” He is the most conservative of all types. He avoids extremes in everything, unlike the Thoracic, and avoids everything that savors the “showy” or conspicuous.

Since the Osseous dislikes displaying himself, refuses to open himself to new fangled fashions of “polite society” and finds it extremely hard to adapt himself to people, a person of this type is rarely a social success. “He is the least of a ‘ladies’ man’ of all the types. The Osseous woman is even less disposed to social life than the Osseous man because the business and professional demands, which compel men of this type to mingle with their fellows, are less urgent with her.”

Just like everything about this type, he seldom changes the style of food he fancies. He will rarely order anything new at a restaurant and will constantly eat the foods that have been his favorites for the past twenty years.

When an Osseous says something, he means it. He is the least likely of all the type to flatter or praise someone. Even when he wants to, it is hard for him to get the words out of his mouth. So, when he does give out a compliment or two, know that he means it. He is a man of very few words and his bones seem extremely large for his body.

Osseous people are never lavish with anything. They hate wasting and throwing things away, which makes this type of people the kind you will typically see on hoarding shows. They save and store things away for years in hopes that they may find some use for it someday in the future.

Bony people tend to fear the future and what is to become of them. They constantly think of how their actions will affect how their life turns out. They are extremely loyal to the few friends that they have and because of their fear of the future they tend to plan ahead to limit the chance of a failing in their future.

The people that the Osseous type dislikes are those who try to “speed him up, hurry him, or make him changes his habits.” People who are flashy in appearance irritate him. Try to dictate him and he is sure to hate you the most out of anyone he knows. You cannot dictate this type and the only way to manage him is to let him think he is having his own way. Bony people like those who are amenable and will never interfere with him, but will agree to his plans, desires and eccentricities.

Bony people are most susceptible to moodiness, fear, – especially financial fear – long-sustained hatreds and resentments, and lack of change. These characteristics tend to be indirectly responsible for those diseases that will bring about the end of the Osseous’ life. The Osseous tends to succeed the most in farming, stock-raising, and other pioneer vocations. They do not get along well with people and cannot be dictate, nor be dictated by others. If a person is both Osseous and Cerebral, they are destined to be a powerful boss. Other than this combinations, they are typically drivers, “incurring the hostility of subordinates.”

The Osseous Type: "The Stayer" – Physical Makeup

When the Osseous or bony framework of the body is more highly developed than any other system in an individual he is said to be of the Osseous type. The Osseous system is made up of the bones of the body and what makes up our skeleton. Their bony framework is extremely pronounced, and its function is to hold the body upright. A first impression of an Osseous type would be that they are rawboned. A man we all know, the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, was largely of the Osseous type. The faces, noses, jaws, hands and fingers of this type are generally longer than most.

Image via Scribd.com

The Osseous tend to look the most rugged out of all of the types and tends to remind us of “the rugged Rockies.” His appearance is firm, fixed, impassive – as if everything about him was permanent. He looks this way because this is how he is. He tends to be the tallest of all of the types – “the six-footer” – and has high, prominent cheek bones. His hands are best described as ‘gnarled’. When an Osseous holds his fingers close together his hand runs straight down instead of tapering. His hand matches his body, head and face – it is bony, angular, large-jointed and just as rigid as it appears. His hands are extremely inflexible, and this is apparent in his handshake. His fingers are knotty and their irregular appearance comes from the size of their joints – which are large.
